Short answer
Metropolmed issues an official invitation letter on its letterhead for patients who need a visa to travel to Türkiye for treatment. The letter confirms your planned treatment, dates and the clinic's licence details, and comes with a hotel booking confirmation. It is free for patients and their companions. The visa decision itself is made by the Turkish consulate or the e-Visa system, so apply early and check the requirements for your nationality.
Who needs a visa for Türkiye?
Many nationalities can visit Türkiye without a visa or with an e-Visa that takes a few minutes online. Others need a visa from a Turkish embassy or consulate before travelling, and a medical visit is a common reason to apply.
Rules change and depend on your passport, so always check the official e-Visa website of the Republic of Türkiye or your nearest Turkish consulate first. Your coordinator can help you understand which route applies to you, but the official sources have the final word.
What the Metropolmed invitation letter includes
The invitation letter is written on Metropolmed letterhead, signed and stamped, and addressed to the consulate handling your application. It explains why you are travelling and who is responsible for your care in Istanbul.
- Your full name, passport number and nationality
- The planned treatment and the doctor's department
- Planned dates of arrival, treatment and departure
- Clinic address, licence and contact details
- Hotel name and booking dates (hotel confirmation attached)
- Companion details, if someone travels with you
Letters for companions and family
Many patients travel with a partner, friend or family member. We prepare a matching invitation letter for your companion so both applications tell the same story, with the same dates and hotel.
If your companion needs a separate hotel room or different dates, tell your coordinator and the documents will reflect it.
How to request your letter
Requesting a letter is simple and can be done on WhatsApp or by email once your treatment plan and dates are confirmed.
- Confirm your treatment plan and travel dates with your coordinator
- Send a clear photo of your passport's photo page (and your companion's)
- Tell us the consulate or city where you will apply
- Receive the signed letter and hotel confirmation, usually within 1–2 working days
Other documents consulates often ask for
Consulates usually ask for more than an invitation letter. Requirements differ from country to country, but these are commonly requested. We can supply the Metropolmed documents; the personal documents come from you.
- A valid passport and completed visa application form
- Return flight booking
- Proof of funds or bank statements
- Travel or health insurance
- Metropolmed invitation letter and hotel confirmation
Welcome letter and arrival details
Every patient also receives a welcome letter before travelling, whether or not a visa is needed. It includes your driver's name, the meeting point at the airport, your hotel details, your coordinator's WhatsApp number and the address of the clinic.
Keep it on your phone or printed with your passport. Border officers sometimes ask about the purpose of your visit, and the letter answers that clearly.
