How the procedure is done

Sleeping on your back with your head raised and using cold compresses in the first days helps limit swelling. You can usually fly home after 6-7 days, once the surgeon has checked the implants and wound healing. Contact sports should be avoided for about 6 weeks.
Risks and safety
Risks include infection, bleeding, asymmetry, implant movement and temporary numbness of the lips, chin or cheeks. Rarely, an implant needs to be repositioned or removed. Infection risk is reduced with antibiotics and careful mouth hygiene.
