Short answer
All-on-6 is a full-arch treatment that fixes a complete set of upper or lower teeth onto six dental implants. It is often chosen when bone volume is good or when extra support is wanted. Treatment usually takes two visits to Istanbul, about 4 to 6 days and then 5 to 7 days, 3 to 6 months apart, with fixed temporary teeth in between.
What is All-on-6?
All-on-6 replaces every tooth in one jaw with a fixed bridge held by six implants spread along the arch. It works in the same way as All-on-4, but with two more points of support.
More implants share the biting forces, which can give extra stability, particularly in the upper jaw where bone is often softer. If one implant ever has a problem, the others can usually continue to support the bridge.
Who is it for?
All-on-6 suits people missing most or all teeth in a jaw who have enough bone for six implants, with or without grafting. A dentist confirms this in person with a 3D scan.
- Loose dentures or many failing teeth
- Upper jaw cases where softer bone needs more support
- Strong biters or people who grind
- Patients who want extra support for a longer bridge
How the procedure is done
The first visit usually takes 4 to 6 days. You have an examination, 3D tomography and digital planning. Remaining teeth are removed if needed, and six implants are placed under local anaesthesia, with sedation if you prefer.
Fixed temporary teeth are usually attached within a few days. After 3 to 6 months of healing, you return for 5 to 7 days for scans, try-ins and your final bridge.
Metropolmed's own dental team carries out your treatment in Istanbul. Our TÜRSAB-licensed travel division (licence 13032) books your hotel, and your hotel, VIP transfer and medical interpreter are arranged before you land. A personal coordinator and 12 months of follow-up are included.
Recovery and results
Expect swelling and soreness for several days, usually easing within a week. Most people return to light routines within 3 to 5 days. A soft diet is needed for the first weeks.
With daily cleaning and regular check-ups, the implants can last 20 years or more. The bridge typically lasts 10 to 15 years before it may need renewing.
Between visits, your coordinator checks on your healing and answers any questions.

Risks and safety
Implant surgery is a routine procedure, but it carries risks. These include swelling, bruising, infection, bleeding, temporary numbness from nerve irritation and, in some cases, an implant that does not bond with the bone and needs replacing. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes and gum disease raise the risk. Placing six implants means a slightly longer surgery and, in some cases, a bone graft or sinus lift.
Cleaning around a full-arch bridge takes daily care to protect the gums. A dentist assesses suitability in person and explains whether All-on-6 or All-on-4 is the better fit. Metropolmed holds the Turkish Ministry of Health international patient authorisation (USHAŞ AK-0164).

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?
All-on-6 uses six implants instead of four, spreading the biting load more widely. It needs more bone, while All-on-4 is designed to work with less.
Is All-on-6 better for the upper jaw?
It is often recommended for the upper jaw, where bone tends to be softer and extra support helps. Your dentist decides based on your 3D scan.
Does All-on-6 always need a bone graft?
No, many patients have enough bone. If the scan shows too little, a graft or sinus lift may be advised before or during surgery.
Does All-on-6 take longer than All-on-4?
The surgery takes a little longer, but the overall timeline is usually the same: two visits 3 to 6 months apart.
